• Permit 75-36. Disturbance categories include the NPDES sites associated
with Mine Areas 2 and 3. Minimal topsoil salvage occurred during
previous mining activities in Mine Areas 2 and 3. Four to eight inches
of topsoil was replaced in Mine Areas 2 and 3 as approved by CMLRD under
Permit 76-36.
Period 3 includes existing post-law (July 1, 1976) disturbance areas at
Nucla Mine which fall under Permit C-006-81. Disturbance categories
include ahead-of-mining topsoil salvage, open pits, spoil piles, partial
and final graded spoils, explosive storage area, temporary by-pass road,
topsoil stockpiles, and NPDES sites. These areas are all included in
the disturbed land category which is delineated on the Topsoil Balance
Plan, Exhibit 9-3 and shown on Tables 9-3-2 and 9-3-3.
