maximum vertical settling predicted at this site was less than 20 inches. The worst passible subsidence consequences
anticipated included the potential for wire spans associated with the facility to become unacceptably stressed or
broken. This did not occur.
Telephone Service
Telephone service lines parallel the county road and were not significantly impacted by TCC's mining operation. In
the event a line was severed a repair crew could be mobilized to perform the required repairs and reestablish phone
service. This was not needed as the mining did not disturb the line. No monitoring was done on the telephone line.
Grouud Water Hvdroloev
The impacts previously predicted for the Foidel Creek Mine will apply to the Southwest Mining District. Two springs
exist in the Southwest Mining District and are monitored to determine impacts. One of the springs saw no impacts,
while the lower spring has dried up.
EASTERN MINING DISTRICT
A review of recent aerial photographs and a limited field inspection were utilized to identify the structures and
renewable resources located within the Eastern Mining District. These are shown on Map 23B, Structures and
Renewable Resources. The various land uses are shown on Map 3, Land Use. The subsidence impacts for the
various structures are presented in Exhibit 7E, Prediction of Subsidence, Eastern Expansion to the Foidel Creek
Mine. Please note that the impacts shown for Fish Creek are presented with the understanding that this is
informational and will be resubmitted at the time Fish Creek will be undermined and subsided.
