u
URILL WATER AND FLU]DS:
Warer haulage will be kept to a minimum. Water will be obtained from the
Dorchester No. 1 Nine yard facilities. Drilling fluids will be contained
by using both a portable mud pit and by constructing a berm to retain
any fluids that might not be contained by the portable pit. Topsoil will
be stripped from the affected area and stockpiled near the site. The berm
will be constructed from underlying subsoil materials.
S1TE PREPARATION:
All sites have been chosen to minimize site grading or leveling. All sites
are situated along existing roads/trails that are currently in use. The
drill rig will use self-contained leveling jacks to further minimize drill
site prepatation.
ROAD ACCESS:
Our plans include the use of existing farm roads and trails, thereby eliminating
additional surface disturbance associated with road access. If for any reason,
roads are damaged by overuse, or require modification prior to use, mine
equipment will be used to reclaim the roads. All drill sites have been located
in open areas to further minimize and control vegetation disturbance.
DRILL HOLE ABANDOt•iENT AND SITE RESTORATION:
As each drill hole is completed it will be sealed to within 10 feet of the
surface with abandonment drill mud. A cement plug will be placed from that
point to within 3 feet of the surface. Soil will be used to fill the
remaining 3 feet.
All equipment, supplies and debris associated with the drilling project will
be removed from the site. All excess drill cuttings will be removed to the
refuse dump.
• The area will then be graded and the topsoil spread over the disturbed area.
Affected areas will be reseeded during the spring with the approved seed
mixture for the Dorchester No. 1 Mine.
