INTRODUCTION:
Dorchester Coal Cor:any intends to augment the development drilling program
at the Dorchester Ito. 1 (dine property in the Newline Creek area, T20S, R10W,
Fremont County, Colorado.
PURPOSE:
This drilling program will accumulate needed data in areas ahead of current
mining acitivities in order to update coal thickness, identify underground
structural features and other geologic data required for efficient mine
production.
METHODS:
Equipment to be used:
A I•lid::ay 1500-I+S drill rig (rotary) will be used to drill the four (4)
a exploratory holes. A 3,000 gallon water truck will haul o-,ater from the
Dorchester IJo. 1 I•iir.e facilities/sources, as is required to drill holes. One
light van-type truck will house the necessary electric logging equipment
required on the preect, one half-ton pickup for the drill crew as well as
a half-ton pickup to be used by the field geologist in charge of the drill
project.
LOCATION:
Note attached map for approximate drill locations. Note that legal des-
criptions of the drill holes are itemized on Table 1.
DRILL HOLE SIZES:
All hole sizes will be 5 5/8" diameter holes to allow fora 3" geophysical
tool to probe the finished hole. All holes will be electric (geophysical)
logged with a wet-hole tool to allow a good resistivity log to be recovered.
No holes will be pernanently cased if that can be avoided. No cores will
• be taken at this tire.
