Appendix A Reclamation activities at Umetco mine sites during 1996 • Burros DMG Permit M/77/297 Stormwater Permit COR-040170 In December, at Umetco's request, San Miguel Power Company removed a power line at this site. The power line was 3 phase, 7 spans, and 8 poles, in disrepair and hazardous. • Deremo-Snyder DMG Permit M/77l288 Stormwater Permit COR-040112 Reclamation activity at this mine site started in March. All of the ventilation raises were closed. Access roads to the ventilation raises were also reclaimed. • Eagle Basin DMG Permit M/79/290 Stormwater Permit COR-040136 One large unlined ventilation raise was filled at this site during the month of December. The cement pad and fan shroud aze still on the collaz. • Eula Belle Mine DMG Permit M/77/291 Stormwater Permit COR-040103 A Technical Revision application was submitted to the DMG in May and appro~ ed. A livestock pond was constructed at the site during April and May, and the portal area was secured with fencing. All the known ventilation raises were closed except EB 1. This lined ventilation raise was transferred to Weimer Ranches and the BLM. In addition, 2 cement collazs for undrilled ventilation raises were removed. At the Martha Belle Mine, apre-law site, Umetco voluntarily closed all known mine openings (3 ventilation raises and 1 portal). • Julian Mines DMG Permit M/79/201HR Stormwater Permit COR-040136 Reclamation activity commenced at this permitted azea in June. Reclamation co~isisted of the closing of access roads, 1 ventilation raise, 12 portals, small cuts and pits, contouring of waste dumps, and seeding. Some pre-law disturbances were also voluntaril}~ closed. All known physical hazazds at the site have been remediated, and reclamation construction activity in this area is complete. The Fairy Queen mine site was seeded.
