Section 816.97(d) Continued. <br />• <br />Distribution. Any possible habitat damage to these sites will be <br />mitigated by implementation of the revegetation plan described <br />under Section 780,18 (b)(5)(1) and by the grading plan described <br />under Section 816.102. In addition to these required measures Kerr <br />Coal will undertake an experimental fertilization program, as dis- <br />cussed in Section 780.18. Existing watering holes used by live- <br />stock and wildlife will not be disturbed by mining or reclamation <br />activities. <br />Maicitenance bf'Ripatiait Ve~etatidit <br />With the exception of the haulroad crossings of Buah and Williams <br />Draws there will be no new disturbance to the natural riparian <br />vegetation found in the Kerr Mine Area. As required by Section <br />816.57, a buffer zone of 100 feet on each side of Bush and Williams <br />Draw will be protected from mining disturbance. The perennial <br />. grass species presently growing in the path of the haulroad cros- <br />sings will be restored by planting transplants of grass together <br />with the seed mixture discussed in Section 780.18. Since the <br />tipple is already fully constructed, no additional riprarian vege- <br />tation will be disturbed at the Kerr tipple. <br />Pidtecfl6ri of Aquatic'Commnnities <br />Aquatic communities will be protected through compliance with a 100 <br />foot buffer zone for all intermittent streams within the Kerr Mine <br />Area. The two haul road crossings across Bush and Williams Draws <br />will have heavy duty steel culverts installed. <br />Mining activities 1n the Kerr Mine Area will not be conducted <br />within 100 feet of any stream with a biological community as des- <br />cribed in Section 816.57 (c). The stream crossings across Bush and <br />Williams Draws will be constructed according to the stated diver- <br />sion requirements of 30 CFR 816.144 and 816.153. As outlined in <br />these Sections, restoration will proceed with removal of the diver- <br />816=117 <br />
