Exhibit D -Wildlife, Water Resources, 4e et at ion, and Soils
In ormation
The plan submitted for this exhibit is very inadequate. The staff must
have site-specific information, not general county information.
Contacting the local SCS office for soils and vegetation information and
contacting the local DOW office for a mine impact statement for wildlife
is encouraged. Please address each of the following for each referenced
permit:
83-1 1. Please submit detailed, site-specific wildlife,
83-2 vegetation and soil information`:
83-1 `[. Please inventory and address any threatened and
83-2 endangered wildlife and/or vegetation in this area.
83-3
83-3 ~ Please submit a detailed wildlife species list and
water resource information.
Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
~1~
~'" 83-1
83
2 Prior to $oard approval, a specific seed mixture agreed
b
~ - up
y the operator must be submitted. Will the operator
,,~~~ agree to the seed mixture stated under this section?
Clarification is required, since it was stated
"...following or smaller mixture will be seeded."
83-1 ~ Will the forage sorghum be drill seeded? At what rate
83-2 is the sorghum planned to be seeded at?
83-3
83-1 ~ Will the above-referenced (point No. 1) seed mixture
83-2 be drill seeded? If not, please specify how the operator
83-3 plans to seed into the sorghum.
83-3 4. The staff suggests the following addition/deletion from
the seed mixture:
a. Add switchgrass at 1.25 #plsJac. The SCS
recommended (Exhibit D) this yrass species for the
soil in this area.
b. Uelete Western wheatgrass from the seed mixture.
According to "Characteristics of Plants Used in
Western Reclamation", 197$, Western wheatgrass is only
adapted to "medium to clayey textures."
c. Add sand dropseed at 0.5 #pls/ac., since this
species is currently on the site.
