Kinard May ~~, 1982 <br />Crowley County Adminiel:.cator <br />Ordway, Colorado 8106.{ <br />Dear Mr. Ktnard: <br />Following ie the reeoux~ce information you requested for your permit application <br />for the Crowley County Gravel Pit. This information ie for approximately <br />30 acres of land located in the SE~ of the SFr} (excluding 10 acres on the <br />south aide) of Section ~, Township 22 South, Range 58 Weet in Crowley County, <br />Colorado. Our aesietarcce wbll be limited to Reclamation Plan, Wildlife <br />Information, Soils Information, Vegetation Information and Climatic Conditions. <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />1. The affected area will be reclaimed for Rangeland. <br />2. Critical Area P1an1:1ng - Area of the reclamat.l.on plan contains approxi- <br />mately 30 acres including roadways. All surface mined areas will be <br />reseeded at the tinge of abandonment using the following practice epeci- <br />vl fications: <br />(1 ). Topsoil Removal - Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled prior to <br />gravel pit gFleratione. <br />(2 ). Construction - All banks will be shaped and graded to a 3:1 grade <br />or flatter. <br />(3)• Toneoil Annli,~$,j,pp - Topsoil removed from construction will be <br />uniformly apFll.ied after shaping and grading. Topsoil will be tilled <br />into soil sux•face during seedbed preparat.l.on. Due to lack of top- <br />soil on affected site, it may be necessary to obtain topsoil from <br />another locai;ion and apply on affected area prior to reseeding. <br />(4 )•. Seedbed Preoaration - Seedbed shall be loosened to a depth of sic <br />inches and smoothed. Disking or cultipacking or both may be <br />nl;ceesary. 7`rash and other debris that may interfere with seeding <br />shall be removed from the site. Competitive stands of weeds that <br />are present tlefore seeding must be controlled 1>y shallow tillage <br />or by application of suitable herbicides. <br />(5)• Fertilizer - All areas to be seeded will be fertilized with not lees <br />than 40 pounds of phosphate (P205) and 40 pounds of nitrogen (N) <br />per acre. Fertilizer shall be tFre granular form and lie applied <br />uniformly over the area to be seeded. Fertilizer will be worked <br />into the eoi7. during the seedbed preparation.
