M •
where onsite roads will be between the portal, dump and ore pile, and if waste rock will be placed in lifts from the
bottom, or dumped over the side from the top. Please clarify these items.
7. Please better describe the ore pad liner material, ore handling/storage on the pad, length of time ore will be
stored before export, control of drainage and leaching on the pad and ore pile, and methods of ore containerization
for hauling.
8. Please state where the portable mining facilities will be located and/or stored, during mining and between
mining periods. Since the equipment is presumed to be diesel-powered, please commit to providing adequate
secondary containment (such as impermeable lined berms) for any fuel or hydrocarbons stored onsite.
9. Which parameters are being considered for testing in the weekly water sanipling to be conducted?
10. Please describe the portable water treatment plant and treatment methods you referred to.
11. The settling basins referred to have no dimensions given nor representation of engineering analysis for their
adequacy. Are these natural basins? Are they part of the historic stream channel, as shown on the 1889 claim map?
Please provide more information about this, and the proposed pipeline meant to convey water to the basins.
l2. There is little topographical information given in the application, making it difficult to assess the need for
onsite runoff and sedimentation controls. Please better description of such in this exhibit, and depict any details on
the maps that follow.
Exhibit D -Reclamation Plan (Rule 6.3.4)
l3. Please describe how the sides of the waste dump will be shaped to 3:1 slopes, by fmal grading or during
placement in lifts.
f 4. The removal and disposal of the ore pad liner and discharge pipeline, and their associated costs, are not
addressed in the plan. Please provide such.
15. Please clarify what is meant by "enhancement materials" associated with the settling ponds.
16. Please clarify how it can be that the ore pile area will be the only disturbed area. Please be aware that all
activities carried out in association with this operation must be in the permit boundaries, and areas occupied by
roads, pipelines or equipment are considered disturbed.
17. Please provide better information about future underground openings, such as expected sizes, methods of
closure. Please ensure that all of these items are also accounted for in your reclamation costs.
Exhibit E -Maps (Rule 6.3.51
18. There is no labelled permit area boundary, only the claim boundaries, which as stated above, do not describe a
9.84-acre permit area. Please add this information.
19. Since it could be that the proposed settling basins and/or the ore storage pad are in the former stream channel,
better depiction of runoff patterns and stormwater controls must be added to the maps.
20. If you plan to use the existing basins for the operation, please note that they are depicted outside the claim
boundaries. They must be shown to be within the 9.84-acre permit boundary, and you must obtain right-of--entry
from the BLM to use such lands outside the claims. Please clarify these items.
21. Please show all onsite roads, between the ore pad, the waste dump, the portal, the equipment storage areas,
structures, etc. Where the roads cross drainages (such as Red Cloud Creek), please show all bridges or culverts.
