JiJII-ail-yF, TiJE 7:5° AM MAJESTIC IOINT PEiITURE F?.X. Nn, 'p~567 9iU6 F'. 2
~ •

4. You have requested that we commit to establishing an appropriately situated
perimeter placer dredge tailing berm around the disturbed area to stop
sediment from flowing off-site. Although we did not go into great detail in the
application, that is indeed what we were committing to do. The final grade of
the re-mined land after removal of the tailing will be very gently sloping. We will
leave a 1 to 2 foot berm of dredge tailing along the down gradient edge of the
disturbance to collect any surface runoff that may occur. And, we will construct
additional berms as necessary as the operation enlarges. The dredge tailing is
well graded to act as a sediment filter in much the same fashion as a silt fence.
If, for some reason, placer dredge berms do not pertorm adequately, other
measures (such as silt fence) will be employed.
5. We are aware that gravel washing, or asphalt or concrete manufacture would
require that the permit be appropriately modified.
6. The permit boundary will be marked with posts, plastic survey lath, or other
permanent /semi-permanent type of marker.
7. The proof of newspaper publication and adjacent landowner notification will
be sent to you along with proof that we filed These responses with the County
Clerk and Recorder.
We hope these responses are satisfactory. Please call if you have
questions.
Yours Very Truly,
Larry F. Brown, Ph.D.
President, L.F. Brown 8 Assoc.
