Mount and Sorenson:
We are in receipt of your Adequacy Letter for the Rock Island Operation
110 Permit Application to re-mine some of the placer dredge tailing up the
Swan River. The following are our responses to your questions:
1. As directed, we have applied the 5 % Office Administration cost to the
Reclamation Cost w/ Contract Administration. This increased the Total
Reclamation Bond by approximately $528 (see attached revised Reclamation
Cost Estimate).
2. The maximum lace that might be excavated at any one time would be
perhaps 20 feet high and 200 feet long. Reducing such a slope from 1.3:1 to 2
or 3:1 of unconsolidated material would be a task that could be accomplished
easily with a dozer in about 1 hour. A backhoe/front-end loader might even
reasonably accomplish the task in 2 hours. Hence, we have added $200 to the
Base Cost for this contingency.
3. You are wondering whether or not fuel will be stored at the site. There will
be no fixed above ground or below ground fuel, oil or grease storage tanks at
the site. On-site equipment will be fueled by a mobile fuel trailer that may or
may not park on-site.
