In 1988 aryl beyorrl, Peabody will be removing coal adjacent to .
the Fast Wadge Dctension Area as close to the east section
line in Section 1 and 12, T5N, R87W as possible in order to
m%+Y~TMlze coal recovery (see Table 13-8). Peabody will not
remove any overburden or coal on the east side of this section
line; however, due to topographic and operational constraints,
Peabody will be moving topsoil, constructing deadhead routes
and ponds, spoiling overburden and performing reclamation work
on the east side of this section line. Prior to performance
of this work, Peabody will have had appropriate regulatory arxi
landowner approval. As mentioned above, as the dragline "digs
out" at the coal r'ecavery line at the Sec,-tion 12 aryl 1 east
section line, the dragline will wa]k onto the proposed
~pafi+Pa~ route and deadhead to the top of the Wadge pit.
The estimated amount of overburden wlumes to be excavated and
the oorrespordinq swelled wlumes by year for both the Wedge
and Wolf (i'epk areas are presented on Table 12-7. Similar •
information for the 1987 to 1991 five-year permit term is
presented in Table 12-7A.
Bemh width and height are governed by the type of equipment
and operation involved and will at all times be in ocmiplianoe
with standard safety practices.
Highwalls, hanks and benches sloping into work areas are
ermined daily, aryl special inspections will be given after
each rain, frost, or thaw before men are allowed to enter
these areas. Any unsafe wrrlitions are appropriately
corrected or the area is posted arri barricaded until
correction is oong~leted.
North Wadge Deadhead Route
In order to maintain a semi-pesnanent deadhead route to the •
top of the Wadge area, an extension to the existing Wadge
12-49a Revised 12/10/92
