• The general sequencing for field activities required t0
backfill a final pit are listed below:
I
1. Topsoil in areas to be ripped or blasted shall be removed
prior to any lard disturbing activities in those areas.
2. When necessary, the material in the final highwall is
ripped, ar drilled and shot prior to being pushed with
dozers into the final pit.
3. Spoil material within the mined area is roue graded with
dozers into the final pit area and blended into the
reduced highwall if present.
4. After roue grading, scrapers help move the material to
the final pit area.
• 5. Dozers then dress up all graded slopes and disturbed
areas blending the material into the existing topography,
prior to topsoil replacement.
4.14.2 GFNII2AL GRADING RDQUIRII+IfSPIS
4.14.2(1) Final Graded Slopes. The final graded slopes will not be
uniform, but will approximate the preminir,g slopes as shown by
FSdiibit 12-9, Pbstinining Contour Map.
4.14.2(2) Terraces. Terracing in the final reclamation is not proposed
except as required by 4.03.1(7)(a)(vii).
4.14.2(3) Small Depressions. Small depressions are not proposed in the
posbninir~ topography except where they were pre-existing or
where stock tanks are proposed (see Tab 13, P,ppendix 13-9 for
design information).
• 12-57 Revised 12/10/92
