-4-
• west of these ponds. Sandstone bedrock was observed to outcrop near
the north abutment of the Pond A.
Pond D: The proposed pond is located east of the present mine on a
small drainage tributary to the Canadian River and is in the NE 1/4,
Sec. 35, T. 9 N., R. 78 W. An existing sedimentation pond and
embanlanent are located west of the site under investigation. The
existing dam is approximately 4 feet in height and 250 feet long and
is impounding water. The ground surface is fairly flat in this area
and slopes gently down to the east. Moderately sloping valley sides
border the site on the north and south.
Pond E: The site is located in the upper portion of a tributary of
the Canadian River and is presently occupied di' an existing pond and
• earthfill embanlanent and is in the SW 1/4, Sec. 25, T. 9 N., R. 78 W.
The existing dam is approximately 250 feet in length and about 6 feet
in height. The crest width is on the order of 6 to 8 feet. Beaching
of the upstream slope of the emban]anent was observed at several
locations. Water discharge from the pond is through a small diameter
outlet pipe embedded within the embanlanent. A small emergency
spillway has been constructed on the north abutment. Claystone-
sandstone bedrock was observed in the spillway excavati~ and the
borrow excavation on the south abutment. The ground surface slopes
moderately down to the drainage and gently down to the east within the
drainage.
Fond F: The proposed pond is to be located in the NE 1/4, Sec. 26,
T. 9 N., R. 78 W., on a tributary of Bush Draw. Bush Draw is located
• approximately 800 feet north of the pond site. A proposed county road
