•
13. In Reclamation Costs, Exhibit L, it is stated that existing shorelines
located in Phase I are not considered for topsoil replacement. The
Operator is responsibile for all acreage disturbed during the mining
operation. If the east and south shores of the existing pit will not be
redisturbed durig mining then it should be stated a such. If an access
road is going to run along the south shore of the existing pit to the
Grant/Winograsky property then this access road would be considered a
disturbance and subject to revegetation. The 3H:1V slopes 10 feet below
shoreline and 2H:1V thereafter would be the reclamation grading standard
for both the new pond and the existing pond. Please clarify what areas
of shoreline will not be redisturbed and therefore not subject to
reclamation under this present permit.
14. A bond estimate was calculated using a 50 foot wide, 2,500 linear foot
shoreline with topsoil replacement at 12 inches. Grading of overburden
to backfill the pit was estimated using the cut and fill method to
achieve a 3H:1V slope from a 2H:1V mined slope. The bond estimate is
$10,700.00 which includes mobilization/demobilization, overhead, and
contractor profit. Please see attached itemization and printouts.
15. Exhibit N shows that the mining operation has been approved by the Army
Corps of Engineers in 1992 and that an approval letter was attached.
This approval letter was not submitted with the permit application.
Please submit a copy of this letter.
16. Please submit xeroxes of the signed green cards from certified mailing to
the County Board of Commissioners, the SCD, and the landowners notified.
17. As provided under Rule 1.5.1 all changes and additions to the permit
application must be filed with the Division and the County Clerk and
Recorder. The applicant should provide the Division with an affidavit or
receipt demonstrating that the change was filed with the County Clerk and
Recorder not later than the close of business on the day the change was
filed with the Division.
Please contact me if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
I / ~ f ~ GII.GL~
Lorraine Stepenske
Reclamation Specialist
LS/scg
Enclosure(s)
cc: Carl Mount
5934E
