E%HIBIT "K"
rLIMATE INFORMATION
C:
Grand Junction is surrounded by mountains on all sides. This topography
protects the valley from severe weather changes. As a result, the
winters are mild with only 24 days per year with temperatures below 32
degrees Fahrenheit, and an average temperature ranging between 17 degrees
and 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
Warm and dry would be an apt description of the Grand Junction summer
with normal highs in the low 90's and low temperatures are commonly in
the 60's. Relative humidity is very law during the summer, averaging
below 20'/.. The average annual precipitation is between 6 and 9 inches.
The average annual snowfall is 22.0 inches. Snow usually melts within a
few days of falling. The ground is free of snow most of the winter.
