According to the report from the Soil Conservation
Service, vegetation in this area consists of predominantly
buffalo grass with sand dropseed grass, bottle brush
squirrel tail grass, red three awn grass, bull thistle, slim
flower scurf pea, snow on the mountain, sand sage (fringe
sage, soap weed, prickely pear and snake weed also present.
' 2. There are no man-made structure within 200 feet of
the site.
' ~
.
;~ 3. A small tributary of Butte Creek approximately 275
feet south of the 9.8 acre mining site. This creek is
, usually dry although heavy rains may cause it to run
briefly. Most water, however, is usually absorbed. There
will be very little drainage from the pit site because there
is a ban k around the mining area which will cause the runoff
to drain back into the pit area.
' 4. No critical or important wildlife habitats or
wildlife species will be impacted by opening a sand and
gravel p it in this area.

I'
