STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN -ACTIVE MINES (cont.) <br />The plea shall identify potential sources of pollution (including sediment) which may reasonably be expected to affect the qualiry <br />of atormwater discharges associated with the mining operation. In addition, the plea shaft describe and ersure the <br />implementation of best management practices (BMPs) which will be used to reduce the pollutants in stormwater discharges <br />associated with miamg activity. <br />As a condition of this permit, alive mining operations must certify the completion and implementation of the SWMP required <br />under this part. At~ve minittg optrations must ®plement the provisions of thew SWMP su a condition of this permit. <br />The Division reserves the right [o request and review the plans, and [o require additional measures to prevent and control <br />pollution, as needed. <br />The SWMP shall include the following items, at a m;n;mnm; <br />Description of Minute Activities <br />The plan shall provide a narrative description of the mining and associated activities taking place at the site which affect <br />ar may affect sWrmwater runoff intended to be coverod by this permit. The narrative description shall report the total <br />acreage within the mine site and an Kfi~+are of the number of acres of disturbed area. A general description of the <br />location of the mining site relative ro major transportation routes and communities shall also be provided. <br />2. Arta Subject W Effluent Lvnitations Guidelines <br />Each plan shall describe the portion of the mining site which contribute runoff to areas subject to effluent limitations <br />guidelines contained in 40 CFR subchapter N. <br />3. ire s <br />Each plan shall provide a site map or maps which indicate at a minimum: <br />- mininglmilliag site bomdaries and access and haul roads; <br />- equipment storage, fueling and maintemace arras; <br />- materials handling areas; <br />- arras used for storage of overburden, materials, soils or wastes; <br />- areas used for outdoor manufacturing. storage or disposal of materials; <br />- location of mine drainage or any otiter process water, <br />- tailings piles/pamds, both new and pre-existing: <br />- mine drainage or nay other process water discharge points; . <br />- springs, streams, wetlands sod other surface waters: and <br />- boundary of area that contributrss runoff to outfalls that are subject to effluent limitations guidelines. <br />For those arras outside of the area that contributes rmoff to outfalls that are subject to effluent limitations <br />guidelines: <br />- m ~ '„~.. of the direction(s) of flow; <br />- atormtvater outfaUs and m outline of the drainage area of each stortmvater outfall; <br />- Barb extsnng 6trr7Ctaral control ~rn+a to reduce pollutants m St0[mWlter nmoff; and <br />- the location of impervious structures (e.g. parivag lots, roofs, etc.) <br />4. Desaioton of Potential Pollutant Sounees/Material Inventor <br />The plan shall provide a description of potential sources which may reasonably be expected to add pollutants to <br />• stormwater discharges. The plan shall idendfy all activities and materials which may potentially be pollutant sources. <br />This description of soutoes should agree with sources identified on the map. The plea shall include, at a minimum: <br />a. An inventory and narrative description of significant materials (sx definitions in Part I.D. of this permit) that have <br />Gam treated, storrd or disposed of in a manner to allow exposure to stormwater from three years prior to permit <br />
