Office/Parking lot/leach Field There is currently an office building, parking lot, and leach
• field on the west side of the permit area as shorn an Exhibit 12-2. Total disturbance associated
with the office and parking area is approximately 0.3 acres. The disturbance associated with the
existing leach field (0.45 acres) has been sumessfully revegetated. Runoff from the areas do
not drain to the existing sediment pond and rill be controlled using a sgii.ront fence. The
location of the sediment fence is shown on Exhibit 12-2. The aed_ t fence is designed to sofa
pans the peak discharge from a 10-year, 24-hour event. All designs can be found in z^^< ^~++= 12-2
Small Area Ex®ption SEDCAD+ Information. Given the limited size of the disturbance area and the
use of a sediment fence HGT respectively requests a Small Area Exemption for the substation area.
Railroad Loop The railroad loop was installed in 1980. Ail disturbance associated with the
construction of the loop has been topaoiled and successfully revegetated. Total reclaimed area
associated with the railroad loop is approximately 70.8 acres. The total reclaimed area is ahoxn
on Exhibit 12-1. Runoff for a majority of the railroad loop does not drain to a sew t
structure. In order to d~+^=trate that the railroad loop meets the intention of the CnIG
Regulations, Section 4.05.2(3), SEDCAD+ analysis was conducted on the entire reclaimed section of
the railroad loop.
The SEDCAD+ analysis and all associated inputs can be found in r~^a+= 12-2 Small Area Exemption
SEDCAD+ information. Ae shown in the annlyais, due to the successful revegetation efforts the
peak settleable solid conoantration is below the state stn^~+~^~+ of 0.5 mg/1. Given these results
• HGT respectively requests a Small Area Exemption for the railroad loop.
Areas 1 and 2. There ar e two small areas (Arena 1 and 2) which were disturbed during
construction of the loadout area. The location of Areas 1 and 2 are shown on Exhibit 12-2.
After construction o£ the loadout, the arses were tapaoiled and successful revegetated. Total
reclaimed ar ea associated with the Areas 1 and 2 is approximately 0.6 and 0.4 acres,
respectively. Runoff fr+® these areas do not drain to a sed?m°^t atrvcture. In order to
demonstrate that the areas meat the intention of the CaC Regulations, Section 4.05.2(3),
analyses ware conducted on both reclaimed sections.
The SEDCAD+ analyses and all associated inputs can be found in Appendix 12-2 Small Arse Exemption
SEDCAD+ Infonaation. Ae shown in the analysis, due to the successful revegatation efforts, there
is no runoff fr® either site. Given these results HGT respectively requests a small area
exemption for Areas 1 and 2.
Diversion Ditches.
A number of diversion ditches were mnstructed inside the permit area. These ditches route the
water to one of the sedi ~^t poems or away fx+am t1~e disturbance arm. Those diversion ditches
have been located with the aid of aerial photography end field verified. Exhibit 12-2 shows the
. location of these divaraions. i4hen xmther permits, exiatinq ditches will be field verified for
location, size, and validity of operational purpoma. Culvert and ditch designs will be
9nbmltted t0 ~r after th19
/QN-o/
Ia Revued ]0/97
