We have received your March 18, 1985 adequacy letter regard ng the above
application and offer the following responses presented in the o der given in
your letter.

Introductory Comments ~
- Attached are proof of publication and the appropriate certified mail
receipts. ~
Attached is our Exhibit C2 map with the Gunnison County ermit area
superposed. If you note the relative size of the two ar as, it would
first appear as though a discordance in the acreage has ccurred (the
Gunnison County application was for 5 acres). However, f you will
note the dimensions given for the permit area in the Gun ison County
permit (M-84-153), the area enclosed does not equal 5 ac es, even if
the haul road is included (the actual area is about 2 ac es total).
Therefore, it appears as though an error was made in cal ulating the
total acreage.

If an asphalt batch plant is located on site at some ti a in the
future, it will be set in the area depicted on the Ex hi it C2 map.
The plant would be portable and temporarily located on ite in order
to meet a demand for road materials. The underlying gr and surface
would first be compacted to retard infiltration in the vent of a
spill (although unlikely), and the area surrounding the tanks would
be bermed with earthen embankment to isolate any possible mishaps.
