.- • -2
Under item 14, the present land use of the entire area is most probably
defined as gravel extraction and (in areas not yet disturbed) agricultural.
The proposed future land use should be discussed with the landowner. It
will probably be agricultural (grazing) at some time after reclamation
is complete, (This is item 15 on the application form.) Please clarify
these land uses.
Please send our Division an original copy of the 2-page application form
itself with your signature. This is necessary for our records.
Please consider your reclamation costs carefully. The cost breakdown
given on the last page of the enclosed work sheet is a good guide. The
maximum bond for a limited impact operation much as this is $5,000.00.
I feel that if you calculate your reclamation costs in a detailed manner
for a 9.9 acre pit, you will find that they more closely approach this
figure than $1,000.00
I hope this letter and enclosed form will help you to finish your application
before the next Board meeting. Please call me if I can be of any further
assistance.
Sincerely,
Pfark S. Loye
Reclamation Specialist
ML:ep
Enclosure
