This estimate is illustrated on the attached map. Our calculations are based on
the following assumptions:
• This is a 38-acre site, of which 33 acres will be mined.
• 3.3 acres will be undisturbed due to setbacks from the Sinclair gas line and the buried
AT&T cable.
• The site will be most disturbed during the beginning of phase 2: the overburden and
topsoil on the16 acres of phase 2 will be stripped and stockpiled. The operator will
have reclaimed 2/3 of phase 1 shoreline (2640 linear feet). The operator will also have
seeded and replaced topsoil above the high water line on this portion of the shoreline.
• There will be about 1,360 linear feet of pit wall within phase 1 left to be reclaimed at an
average depth of 16 feet.
• ere will be about 2 acres of stockpile and access areas that will need to be ripped,
topsoil replaced, mulched and seeded.
6.4.5 Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
2. Hall-Irwin will sell any excess overburden.
CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING PLANNING
