GiVI~10f1 Gi gnliP"."3!3 & ~eoiac,~; We are responding to a notice that was mailed to us August 9, 2005 stating that comments about the Gravel LLC application known as Rock Dog #1 should be mailed to you. Attached please find some comments from various agencies, email from the prior owner of the property, a newspaper article about when we went before BOCC. Attachment #1-Division of Mineral & Geology states "The proposed access road is marked as potentially unstable slopes". There are wet areas on the slopes that maybe wetlands. (Andy Gleason-Geologist) Attachment #2 -The permit filed under provisions of "Colorado Land Reclamation Act" wants to reclaim the land to RESIDENTIAL. The Durango La Plata County/City Airport is highly opposed to residential development in the flight pattern zone which is where this project is located. Attachment #3 - U.S. Army Corp of Engineers - It appeals that the site may contain jurisdictional wetlands. Attachment #4 -Email from the previous owners of this property states that Residential is not compatible with the agricultural character of the area and that the area has a significant history of "inadequate" water. Water by the way is how the gravel pit says they are going to hold dust down while they are digging. Attachment #5 -Colorado Department of Transportation states that the proposal will have a significant impact on the state highway system.
