ent ey: CANON CITY FSC;
719 275 30;9; Aup•26-Oa 2:1BPM; Pape 3
The conclusion as to whetfier the Shanty soil area is Irrigable by flood irrigation is
debatable. As.l have already noted the site is a smaA acreage, too small to
realistically justify construction of an irrigation system. A major kem is the lack of an
existing water right iar the Iand. The nearby stream, Oak Gr®ek, fs already over
appropriated. There is realistically no Irrigation water Available. Even existing water
rights (Jak Creek) dating 1916 are now much too junior to assure dependable
irrgation uses.
If irrigation water was available and the ske was much larger in area. 1 be(feve the
presently restored sail conditions would now be suitable €arflood irrigation farming.
If additional information is needed, contact this office at the above phone nurtfber.
Sincerely,
Roy
Sot onseroatianist
Endosures: Maps (2)
Soils descriptions
CONSERVATION - OEVELOpMEN'r -SELF-0OVERNMENT
E-may address: janec.bamhart~co,nawnat.net
