Mr. Gregg Squire
Reclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals & Geology
August 5, 1993
Page 2
After contacting the Middle Park Soil Conservation District, they recommended the
following:
PLS/ACRE
PLANT SPECIES 1 % % OF MIX LBS/ACRE
Garrison Meadow Foxtail 16.0 40% 2.5 Ibs
Canary Reed Grass 7.7 13% 1.0 Ibs
Smooth Bromegrass 26.0 25% 6.5 Ibs
Red Top 2.0 12% 0.251bs
Alsike Clover 5.0 10% 0.501bs
Total Resssdlny Rste 11.251bs
We have enclosed a typical section for the mining area that shows the intended concept
of grading for reclamation. This would not leave the area a flat table top and should
satisfy the concerns of Summit County. Please note the grading also leaves a small
berm between the stream and the reclaimed area to allow the stormwater to percolate
into the ground and thus reduce some sediment transport into the stream. These berm
areas, where possible, will be revegetated with 18 inch willow shoots to be introduced
during the spring planting/growing season.
The operator may install a portable screen on-site to capture additional fines for
reclamation purposes. This screen will only be brought on-site if it is a Use By Right
granted by Summit County with no requirements for public hearings.
Exhibit L Reclamation Costs
The Operator has reviewed the request for the additional bond of $7,250 and agrees to
the increase. ~~ ~;o
In addition to the adequacy concerns, we also received the letters that were sent by the 3 ~
Colorado Historical Society and Summit County and would like to take this opportunity to
respond to them.
Colorado Hlstorlcel Society Letter
The proposed mining operation is intended to remain confined to previously disturbed
areas and will not impact undisturbed areas.
