GEOTECHNICAL CORE LOGS - DATA PRESENTATION
A geotechnical core log has been prepared for portions
of the materials in the borehole. Presentation of the graphic
logs and corresponding descriptive logs is as follows:
Definition of Technical Terme - Some of the
technical terms used in the descriptive geo-
technical logs may be unfamiliar. Therefore,
definitions of several geotechnical terms are
presented.
Rock Type Definitions and Descriptions - The
commonly encountered lithology types adjacent
to the coal seam are defined and described.
These terms may or may not be the ones used by
others describing the same core. However,
when these terms are used their meaning may be
understood.
3. liey to Graphic Ceotechnical Logs - The key to
the graphic descriptions of the geotechnical
logs is presented in Figure I-1. This key
describes the meaning of the symbols used in
the graphic logs.
4. Graphic Geotechnical Logs - The graphic log of
the geotechnically logged materials is pre-
sented first.
5. Descriptive CeotechnicaZ Loge - The detailed
descriptive log for the materials follows the
graphic log.
