RECLAMATION PLAN
Plan 2
All backfilling of highwalls and old mine cuts will be compacted for
adequate stability. No toxic materials are found in the Coaldale Deposit
that would result in leaching and pollution of water resources in the area.
Due to high permeability and low amounts of precipitation in the area,
erosion of dump areas is not a serious problem in Coaldale. Applications
of mulch materials on slopes of 3:1 and up will control the small amounts
of erosion and siltation, except in the case of the rock face on Go 1d Hill
and Copper Hill, which will be stabilized by removal of any loose material
which might result in slides or falling debris. All highwalls not backfilled
will be sufficiently stabilized for safe working conditions. Backfilling
and grading will be completed as soon as possible after mining, according
• to the reclamation plan timetable (attached).
Water
Due to lack of surface water on the affected land ~~r in close proximity
to affected land, low water table, and high permeability of the soils and
mine spoils, mining will have no measurable effect on the water resources of
surrounding area.
Wildlife
I
In consultation with the local wildlife office, a goal of the Coaldale
I
reclamation plan will involve the rehabilitation and im2rovement of wildlife
habitat.
LJ
