SUhA7ARY OF COALDALE MINING PLAtI BY AREA
• (Refer to Mining Plan Maps for Locations)
Magazine Hill
Development and ore extraction commenced in 1973 and will be completed
by 1981. The ore body will be removed from the center portion o'_'tdagazine
Hill by this time, with the remaining northeast side of Magazine Hill (hang-
ingwall) reclamation activities scheduled for phase three of the plan in
1980• The central portion of the pit, however, will be utilized for a
haulageway for entrance and exit to the remaining extraction levels in the
Senatore and Copper Hill areas. This will result in delay of reclamation
activities in the interior of the pit until the termination of extraction
activities, (for the life of mine). Reclamation of tY.e interior of the
Coaldale pit is the final stage of reclamation planning. (see Reclamation
• Timetable) Magazine Hill, which includes 17 acres of affected land, is
located in the South-central portion of the map titles "Affected Land
Overlay". 1975 through 1977-------Development and extraction of 6880,
6850, and 6820 levels, including Dozer ripping and pushing of the hang-
ingwall to the East-Northeast along the strike of the gypsum outcrop.
Subsequent levels lie directly below the initial 6880 cut. Extraction of
ore from the 6790 and 6760 levels will continue until app. 1981, at which
time the Magazine pit floor will facilitate the haulage exit of vehicles
from the extraction areas directly to the North of Magazine Hill.
•
