<br />Site 15-06
<br />This site occurs along the existing access road and high pressure hose, at an elevation of 7,800
<br />feet above mesh sea level. The location is Township 13 south, Range 90 west, on the section
<br />line between 26 and ?7. This site occurs 1/4 milt upslopc of two ponds.
<br />The site is in a large aspen stand. The undersiory consists of chnkxhcrry, servicebetry,
<br />Ihimbleherry (Rubes parviflorus), wi]d rose, bracken and foxtail (Alopecurus) (sec photo 4).
<br />Many of the aspen trees at this site have nesting cavities, and there were many active birds in the
<br />azea One northern flicks cavity nest was observed in an aspen tree. Sensitive species that may
<br />occur here include: boreal toad, tiger salamander, northern lcopazd frog, milk snake, pygmy
<br />shrew, and Lewis' woodpecker. None of these species were observed at the site; however, a
<br />northem leopard frog was observed at a pond downslope from the site.
<br />Site 15-07
<br />This site occurs approximately 15 feet west of the existing access road at an elevation of 7,950
<br />feet above mean sea level. The location is Township 13 south, Range 90 west, Section 27
<br />(NE 1/4, SE 1 /4, NW 1 /4).
<br />The azca is somewhat disturbed, most likely from road maintenance. The overstory is patchy
<br />and consists of Gambel's oak and servicebetry. The undcrstory consists of sagebrush (Artemesia
<br />tridentata), snowbeny, purple aster (Aster falcatus), blur wildrye (F,lymus glutlcw•), and
<br />Kenmcky bluegrass (Pon pratensis) (see photo 5).
<br />Several USFS sensitive species may occasionally use this type of habitat, and may be present at
<br />the site. 'Ihcsc species include: dwazf shrew, fox sparrow, and Lewis' woodpecker. None of
<br />these species were observed at or neaz the site.
<br />Site 15-08
<br />This site occurs approximately 100 feet south of the existing access road, at an elevation of 7,800
<br />feet. The location is Township 13 south, Range 90 west, Section 27 (NE1/4, SW 1/4, NW ] /4).
<br />The overstory is patchy and consists of Gambcl's oak and serviceberry. The understory is also
<br />patchy sad consists of snowbcrry, blue wildrye, needle-and-thread grass (Stipa cumata), and
<br />antelopebrush (Purshia tride»tata) (see photo 6}.
<br />Several USFS sensitive species may occasionally use this type of habitat, and may be presrnt at
<br />the site. These species include: dwart~ shrew, fox sparrow, and Lewis' woodpecker. None of
<br />these species were observed at or near the site.
<br />Site 15-09
<br />This site occurs just south of the existing access road at an approximate elevation of 7,850 feet.

<br />The overstory is patchy and consists of Gambel's oek and servicebeny. The understory consists
<br />of snowberry, blue wildrye. Kentucky bluegrass, sad needle-and-thread ~-ess (see photo 7).
