8. To characterize the estimated 32 million tons of waste rock expected to
be generated from the open pit areas, eight waste rock samples analyses
were submitted for review. Please describe how this sample set
adequately characterizes site conditions, given the amount and variety of
waste rock to be generated on site.
9. The results from the humidity-cell test of the interburden indicate
sulfate concentrations to vary significantly from week to week. Please
discuss why this occurs. Please describe why the cumulative sulfate data
reported does not appear to be additive throughout the test period?
10. The individual tests performed on the interburden, overburden, and waste
rock along the fault zone indicate that the interburden has a slight
potential for acid production. If these materials are handled
separately, please describe what mitigation is proposed to ensure that
the interburden will not be acid-forming. If the waste material is
combined during disposal, describe the projected composite effect for
acid-production potential.
Section D.3.4 Facility Construction
Section D.3.4.1 General
11. Please specify the methods and disposal locations for vegetation removal
planned for the various facility locations.
12. Please specify the depth of topsoil and subsoil removal proposed for each
of the facility locations.
13. Please estimate the anticipated amount of material (combined ore and
waste) to be removed from the east pit.
Section D.5 Mill Facilities
14. Please specify mill facility design specifications (flooring naterials,
sump locations, material and height of knee walls, etc.) so teat
containment and or recovery of spilled or overflowed milling reagents,
both in the reagent storage area and in the flotation, recirculation, and
processing areas is assured.
15. Pregnant solutions from the leach pad pumped to the mill for processing
will require transmittal through a system that provides seconiary
containment of solutions in the event of pipe failure, leaks, or damage.
This may include double piping or pipes laid on an HDPE liner. Please
commit to such.
16. What percentage of the tailing will be processed in the carbo rin-leach
circuit? Please provide the textural analysis of the material processed
through the carbon-in-leach circuit.
17. Will the flotation system also use cyanide as part of its pro~:essing
prior to disposal as tailing?
-3-
