• Cleaned wal will be produced at a rate of about 116 TPH with a net <br />surface moisture of about 7.018. Most moisture will reside on the <br />fine size fractions. It will be conveyed directly to a coal-bin <br />loadout structure where it will be loaded into trucks. The trucking <br />operation from the Hawk's Nest East facilities to the present location of the <br />surge pile may remain the same. ~e refuse will care out at a rate of <br />about 34 TPH with a net surface rroisture of about 16.6. It will be <br />conveyed to a 25 tai truck loadout bin. The refuse will be hauled to <br />a landfill disp~al site on federal land some 25 miles fran the mine site <br />between the towns of Hotchkiss and Paonia. ~e refuse piles will be <br />reclaimed and revegetated on a continuous basis. <br />Water in the plant is recycled thmuc~ the use of a static thickener, <br />the thickener bottom's being dried using a vacuum filter and put on <br />a product belt. The only ponds required will be used to durry~ the plant <br />when necessary. This unloading of plant water into the ponds will not <br />• be performed on a regular basis. When pond capacity becrnes limited, <br />they will be cleaned. No water will be allowed to overflow into the <br />river. <br />'Itao ponds will be dug into the ground surface 8' - 10' deep, and coated <br />with 6" of Bentonite clay. The sides of the ponds will be sloped 25° <br />from horizontal. No water will be allowed to enter the river unless <br />it o~rg~lies with the water discharge permit - CO - 0033146. <br />Operational rronitoring will be conducted to comply with discharge <br />permit 00033146. <br />• <br />-8- <br />
