*'~'
Moffat County Planning Department
Re: Use Permit/Bunn Ranch Gravel Pit
April 25, 1980
Page 3
The Corps of Engineers has looked at the site and has indicated that no
permit under Section 404 for the dredging of wet lands is going to be
required. Included in the material submitted below are reports from
the Colorado Division of Wildlife and from the Colorado First Soil
Conservation District. And, as you can see, they reflect that in their
judgment the proposed development will constitute a net long-term
environmental benefit.
However, we are now enclosing such of the information which
you have requested as is now available to us as follows:
1. A complete legal description of this property as the same
is owned by the applicant.
2. At the time of the meeting, we will be prepared to
present a rough map of the area to be disturbed.
3. Included in the map to be submitted at that time is a
time table and tentative mining plan.
4. The time table for operations, also tentative, will be
reflected on said map.
5. (a) A copy of the report from the Colorado First
Soil Conservation District.
(b) A copy of the report from the Colorado Division
of Wildlife.
(c) A written summary from the U.S. Corps of
Engineers concerning their visit to the site should be
available by the 5th; however, as stated above, their
comments have been favorable. These facts, should you
choose, can be verified prior to the meeting by you, by
contacting either Mr. Norm Sanders or Mr. William Herring
of the Corps of Engineers at their Grand Junction
office.
6. As to the requested information from [he Division of
Water Resources concerning water rights, as you know,
this investigation is initiated by and through the Mined
Land Board after the application is submitted to them.
