•
•

774.17 ALTERNATIVE WATER SUPPLY INFORMATION
General
Mining on the 90-acre lease is not expected to cause
significant or identifiable modifications in either the
surface or ground water regime beyond the boundaries of
the tract.
Water Requirements and Utilization
The proposed extension of the existing mine will require
water for two uses, fugitive dust control and sanitation.
Estimates of water requirements are as follows:
USE UANTITY USE PERIOD
Fugitive Dust ontro ga ay mo yr
7.5 ac ft/yr
Sanitation
4,500 gal/day
12 mo/yr
5 ac ft/yr
Both demands will be met principally by ground water
utilization. Water for fugitive dust control will be
drawn from the sediment control pond. This pond will be
fed by ground water which seeps into the mine and is
pumped from the pit. Application has been made to the
Water Court in Division 6 for a .0446 cfs (20 gpm)
flow right for pumpage from the mine and a 15 ac ft/yr
storage right at the sediment control pond.
18
