4-54
•
•
Minimization of disturbance and adverse impacts plus en-
hancement of wildlife resources will be implemented under
a three part plan including:
(2) Resource monitoring, ~d
(1) Protection and control;
(3) Reclamation.~As stated
above, the actual area of disturbance and mining activities
will be confined to a relatively small portion of the per-
mit area. The plan as described will concentrate primarily
on this area and a zone of influence around this area where
visual, auditory impacts will have the greatest influence.
Protection and Control
During mining operations, control and protection measures
will be implemented to protect wildlife resources existing
in the mine area. Measures taken will be focused primarily
at limiting disturbance and destruction resulting from in-
creased human and mechanical activities. Specific measures
to be initiated are as follows:
o Access to the mine area and surrounding proper-
ties will be limited to mine employees and mine
visitors in the company of mine personnel for
business purposes only. Multiple gate systems
and trespass signs are already in place at the
mine site.
o Mine site access is limited to one point for
all mine traffic reducing the area of activities
and potential for road kill and disturbance.

o A posted speed limit of 15 mph will be enforced
on the mine property access road and work area.
