r~
MINING PLAN
Nining of each phase, I thru VI, will begin with the
stripping of approximately 1' of top soil and vege-
tation. This material will be stockpiled primarily
around the perimeter of the pits for later use. No
soil stockpiles will be placed in the Boulder Creek
floodway.
These stockpiles, which will be approximately 10' high,
will act as a sound barrier between the mining operation
and the residents. As these piles are soil and vege-
tation, it is anticipated that they will quickly be
covered with new growth, thereby acting as alust
preventative.
The area to be mined will be trenched by dragline and
dewitered. The water will be discharged to Boulder
Creek or its irrigation ditches, under the authority of
an :N.P.D.k;.S. permit. The discharged water will be
monitored daily and regulated to prevent flooding of
downstream lands.
A portable crusher spread will be located near the area
to oe worked to crush, size and stockpile the gravel.
Thereby reducing travel distance of the loaders.
The gravel stockpiles and plant will not be positioned
in the floodway. These stockpiles will be positioned
bet~deen the mining operation and the residents as an
add~:d measure of sound protection, and the haul roads
will be wetted for dust suppression.
The gravel mined is in a damp state, however, the
pro~~essinq equipment is fitted with spray bars and
these are kept is use during operations. The water
for dust suppression will be imported until a local
source, properly decreed, is obtained.
Five to sixteen feet of((Aluvium will be remove3from each
pha:;e, beginning with Phase I and proceeding thru Phase
VI. This operation is expected to last lU years, however,
market conditions dictate the amount of material to be
removed from this site.
Gravel trucks will enter
loc~stions from the count
approval from the county
• :destern Paving maintains
~ trur_kinq operations.
and exit the mine at multiple
y road system - see letters of
and state road departments.
very strict control over its
