S~
(•
~~
RnCLAMATION PLAN
They pre-mining plan map shows the various trees located
in Phase II and the one tree, located in Phase VI, that
are: to be removed. There are no other trees within the
mining area. The majority of this property is in low
yield cultivated crops and the balance is grazing land.
Rec;lamation will begin during Phase I by contouring the
land, prior to completion of the mining in this area.
On the up stream, (low water level) side of the lakes,
islands and shallows will be constructed. This marshy
area is expected to produce good wild fowl habitat.
Slopes will range from 2:1 to 4:1, the average being 3:1.
However, the steepest slopes from 2' above the normal
high water elevation to 10' below high water, will be 3: 1.
The stockpiled top soil will then be placed 12" thick on
the final contours.
't'ree and shrub species will be selected and planted as
soon as the final configuration of the lake is determined
and the permanent ground water elevation is established.
i. concentration of 6 trees and 10 shrubs for each acre
of disturbed land will be the minimum planted, followed
oy grass seeding. (See Dep:art~ent of Agricultural Soil
Conservation Service recommendations).
Tha above mentioned method of reclamation will be
adti~=_red to for each consecui:ive phase.
Maintainence of the reclaimed areas will continue for
3 y~aars to assure firmly established vegetation.
