•
AIR POLLUTION_CONTROL PLAN
As of July 1988, the air quality monitoring network of Colorado
Yampa C~~1 Company was eliminated. Mining production had
decreased substantially since the inception of the program which
was designed to evaluate the Pffectiveness of dust suppression
techniques. Since the efficiency was documented and production
had decreased and would soon cease, it was determined the air
quality monitoring network was no longer necessary. A detailed
description of the historic monitoring program can be found within
Volume II of the C-81-071 permit document, beginning on page
780-60.
•
CYCC continues to operate under Air Emissions Permits (see page
778-29-1). In compliance with +he Air Emissions Permits, the dust
suppression program for haul reads continues to consist primarily
of watering, particularly during summer months. It also includes
periodic tr~atinent with chemical dust suppressant. However,
Dustguard, a magnesium chloride (MgC12) solution, is currently
used in place of Coherex. This is the result of a study done as a
condition of CYCC's Air Emissions Permits.
For an update on roads, topsoil handling, soil stabilization and
facilities, see appropriate secti~~ns.
• TR89-24 Permit Renewal 780-60-1 Revised 03/01/89
-~ ..
