elevated off the grourcl so that the deans can be transferred easily into the back
• of a pick up truck. It is unlikely that any coal will be spilled during the
sampling process, but if it does it will be picked up and removed frmn the area.
A wrx:rete pad, approximately 8' X 10' X 1' will be poured to provide a
foundation to rest and fasten the tower upon. A truck parking area will be
constructed adjacent to the sampli~ tower. Zhe parking area will be
approximately 18' X 40' . Road base material will be brcuc~t in along the
railroad track and spread out over the parking area. 4he road base material will
be placed to an approximate depth of 1 foot. The existing ditch along the
railroad will have a culvert placed in it for the length of the tower and parking
area. It is planned to use a 12" culvert, aryl given the extremely small drainage
(0.14 Acres) it will more than suffice to carry any runoff. 4he 12" culvert has
been propoesd by a registered professional engineer, aryl it is his professional
opinion that this culvert is more than sufficient to carry runoff from a 10 yr,
24-hour event. 'Ihe peak flow for the 10 yr, 24-hr event would be 0.01 CFS (0.14
access, 1.8" runoff/ac).
• In the event of an emergency trucks may drive off of the tracks to the north of
the parking pad. If this occurs and surface damage that may result will be
repaired as soon as cJrcxaxl corrlitions allow.
When the tower is no longer needed it will be dismantled and removed from the
site. Likewise, the concrete pad, culvert and road base material will be removed
from the site.
'Ihe existing sump that takes runoff frce the tipple facility and wash down water
generated during building maintenance will be relocated to the area shown on
Permit Renewal Map No. 5 (Fclanan Park Mine Plan, Roads, Powerlines, and
Facilities). 'Ihe existing sump will be backfilled with the material excavated
during the reduction of the slope (slope reduced to 2H:1V) adjacent to the
railroad. Zhe location of the slope reduction area is shoran on Permit Renewal
Map No. 5. It is estimated that approximately 760 CY of material will be
excavated during the reduction of the slope.
u
MR 91-64 Permit .Renewal 780-30-2 (a) Revised 01/16/91
