EXHIBIT E <br />RECLAh1ATI0N PLAN AND TII~fETABLE <br />Reclamation Plan. After mining and reclamation is com- <br />pleted in about 2001, Valco plans to use the Rocky Ford East <br />property as a private recreation area. A quiet lake area, <br />' approximately 26.98 acres +, east of the city of Rocky Ford <br />and just north of U.S. Highway 50, will be created (see map <br />Exhibit F). The property will have one or two hillocks on <br />' the north side of the lake and a variety of grate shrubs <br />and trees will be planted to stabilize the soil, reduce erosional <br />t __----- - - --------.Y~, <br />amage, enhance the wildlife habitat, and emphasize the natural <br /> <br />1 <br />~' <br />beauty of the land. <br />There will be~five mining stages each followed by a <br />five-year reclamation phase. Valco plans to attempt to complete <br />refill, grading and revegetation within one year of the com- <br />pletion of each mining stage. The only variation will be <br />when the operator is required to delay planting to await <br />favorable seasonal conditions. The remaining four years of <br />each reclamation phase will be devoted to monitoring revege- <br />tation efforts and performing remedial work where necessary. <br />Reclamation Standards. Grading will create a topography <br />appropriate to the final land use. Backfilling into the lake <br />will create irregular shore lines and peninsulas with good <br />stability (see map Exhibit F). The north side of the <br />hillock will be sloped inward so that no runoff damage to <br />10 <br />
