WILLIAM (BILL) SCHENDERLEIN
Edgcation Samma
Bill earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with a minor degree in Geological Engineering
from the Colorado School of Mines in 1983. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Envvonmental
Engineering in 1993 from Colorado State University. Bill is an E.I.T. in Colorado and an active member
of the American Water Resources Association, American Chemical Society, and American Society of
Civil Engincers. He has produced several publications detailing site investigation and assessment
activities related to engineering projects.
E:perience Sammarv
Bill's education and experience provide diversified knowledge and skills in engineering and scient~c
principles, practices, and theories. N addition to an academic background in both endvonmental
engineering and the natural sciences, Bill possesses over ten years of professional experience in data
assessment and management; hydrologic investigation; and water quality chazacteri7ation, impact
assessment, and rehabilitation. He specializes in applying the principles of water chemistry, hydrology,
and hydrogeology to the development of monitoring programs and data management systems for site
characterization, impact evaluation, and mitigatiom and remedial response activities. Bill is experienced
working with Federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private land owners to accomplish
project goals.
Project Engineer
Applegate 6roupr Ine., Westminster, Colorado (Apri12000-Present)
Responsible for managing projects and tasks associated with the permitting of mining operations and
other resource development projects. Conducts engineering, hydrologic, and land use evaluations in
response to agency and public comments regazding proposed resource development and reclamation
plans. Evaluates ground water conditions and potential impacts and surface water control and
rehabilitation options associated with roining operations and other resource development projects.
Environmental Engineer
ESA Consuhants Inc., Fort Collins, Colorado (January 1996 -April 2000)
Evaluated surface and ground water quantity and quality conditions and developed potential impact
analyses and mitigation plans for natural resource development and remediation projects. Designed and
implemented hydrologic investigations, monitoring programs, and performed field investigation and
construction oversight. Operated and maintained windows-compatible databases for environmental
remediation activities. Implemented envrronmemtal monitoring and mitigation programs through the
development of Work Plans, Sample and Analysis Plans, QA/QC Plans, Stormwater Management Plans,
and Pollution Prevention Plams.
Environmental Engimeer
Riverside Technology, inc., Fort Collins, Colorado (Febnrary 1994 -November 1995)
Performed hydrologic investigations to characterize and evaluate surface and ground water conditions for
natural resource development projects. Developed nonpoint source mitigation programs that included
best management practices; wetland enhancement, mitigation, and creation; and restoration of degaded
stream reaches.
Engineering Tec6oicisn
Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Denver, Colorado (May 1992 -February 1994)
Structured alluvial ground water momitoring program including Work Plan development and property
owner coordination. Conducted ground water sampling and performed data evaluation and interpretation
to prepare reports for ground water monitorimg program.
Applegate Group, Ine.
