These standards are to be arrived at in conjunction
• with the MLRD by Dlarch 31, 1982. The enclosed materials are submitted in order
to meet the requirements of these stipulations.
Current reclamation/revegetation technology and practices and initial
revegetation data taken from mines in northwest Colorado on areas reclaimed
under current reclamation la?.~s indicate that the goals proposed herein can be
achieved within the bonding liability period. During the process of formulating
the revegetation success criteria the DiLRD indicated that at present it isn't .
totally satisfied with the Shannon-A'iener methods of vegetational analysis
(which ~,~ere used in the formulation of the criteria called for by these stipu-
lations) and that in the near future alternative methods for determining re-
vegetation success for bond release will be promulgated by the Division. Al-
though PF,D1 is confident that these proposed goals can be met, the option to
change these revegetation evaluation criteria in the future is reserved. Re-
• evaluation of the requirements may be precipitated by revegetation sampling
