APPENDIX 2.4-B
TROUT CREEK WATER WITHDRAWAL PAD RECLAMATION AND SUCCESS DETERMINATION
Appropriate revegetation materials will be utilized to reclaim the water
withdrawal site on Trout Creek. The anticipated area of disturbance is 1.19 ocres.
Due to The limited amount of disturbance in the Red top/Willow Community (.46 acres)
ii was jointly agreed upon by the MLRD and P & M that maintenance of a 2.0 acre
reference area is unnecessary for determining revegetation success. In lieu of such
an area the following methods will be utilized for release of vegetative bonds.
During the growing season prior to bond release application fifty meter transects
will be run using a ten point frame and a 0.25 meter2 hoop in both undisturbed
riparian and revegetated riparian habitats. Productivity, cover and diversity data will
be taken. Relevant shrub data (i.e. number of stems per acre, height, etc.) will also
be collected. Transects in the undisturbed areas will be located immediately above
and below the disturbed area. A sufficient number of transects will be taken to
• achieve applicable statistical confidence levels.
l J
Revised 10-81 3
