Exhibit "D" <br />(1) This application includes the following information in accordance with the <br />regulations: <br />(a) When and what depth of overburden will be replaced in relation to extraction. <br />The soil types present have little to no topsoil and no overburden with the surface <br />being sand and gravel. 4"-6" of the top layer will be saved as plant growth media <br />to be replaced in reclamation. <br />(b) Maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes (horizontal :vertical) <br />The maximum gradient on reclaimed backslopes will be 3H:1 V of flatter to <br />accommodate the rangeland use proposed by the Lessor. <br />(c) Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site: <br />(i) The growth media will be replaced at a depth of 4" to 6" and the backslopes <br />finished at 3H:1 V. The pit will be daylight to the east side closest to the <br />Huerfano River. See maps. <br />(ii) Time of seeding, seedbed preparation, type, application rate and soil <br />incorporation, method of fertilization application. <br />Fall seeding is preferred and proposed if at all possible. <br />The seedbed will be scarified and it will be across the slope in the backsloped <br />area. Seed will be drilled rather than broadcast. 40# available N & P <br />recommended and will be applied with a commercial spreader. <br />Certified noxious weed free Straw or grass <br />hay will be applied at the rate of 4,000#/A. <br />(iii) State the species to be planted and applicable quantities: <br />Species Variety #/A PLS <br />Thickspike wheatgrass Critana 1.90 <br />Sideoats grama Vaughn 1.60 <br />Little bluestem Pastura 1.10 <br />4.60 #/PLS <br />
