SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF
SEDIMENTATION DAMS
Four dams for collecting sediment from the mine site, one dam at
the storage and loadout facilities, and one at the parking area will be
constructed as shown on Maps 15, 16 and 17. Each dam will be approximately
1.0 acre-feet in capacity.
The dams are constructed of asbestos-bonded bin walls and backfilled.
Assembly instructions are as shown on the following pages.
Access roads to the dams will be constructed to allow efficient removal
of sediment from ponds.
It is important that a maximum of trees, shrubs and other vegetative
• matter be saved during construction of the dams. Vegetative matter that must
~' be disturbed will be shredded as per BLM instructions. Topsoil will be
segregated, stored, and redistributed following construction for revegetative
efforts. All will be performed under the supervision of CWI's civil engineer.
All stipulations of the Federal Lease, USGS Mine Plan, and right-of-way
must be adhered to.
~:'
