On behalf of Maverick Sand & Gravel, following are its
responses to the DMG's comments and concerns:
1. Enclosed are two copies of the maps signed and dated by a qualified preparer.
2. The amended maps show the section of the Gurley Ditch that is already piped
for the access road crossing.
3. The amended maps show additional fences on or within 200 feet of the
proposed affected area, those crossing through the permit area, and those within
200 feet of all portions of the access road.
4. The text included with Exhibit C was amended to clarify that the pipe in the
Gurley ditch is an existing feature at the access road crossing. The description
of the fences on or within 200 feet of the proposed affected area was revised as
requested.
5. The text regarding the chip and seal treatment County Road 37.00 was removed
from the mining plan.
6. A section was added to the mining plan to specify how overburden will be
handled.
7. A commitment was added to the mining plan to leave at least 2 feet of porous
material over the pit floor to provide for drainage of any intercepted stormwater
and for a rooting zone for establishing vegetation during reclamation.
8. No response required.
9. The width of the topsoil stockpile will be increased from 20-feet to 30-feet as
illustrated on the Mine Plan Map.
~~C~I 2/ ~~Lg
JAN 0 6 2003
Division of Minerals anll CeoloBY
CIVIL ENGINEERING
CONST.
