It is approximately 9.9 acres <br />in :site and the soil at this site is a Eckley-Wages gravelly <br />sandy loam. For a description of the soils see the attached <br />soils description and soil map. The range site inventory <br />was run with the existing species listed, see range <br />inventory attached. <br />Before mining of the area is abandoned, the following <br />pro~;edure should be followed to restore a native range <br />conditions. Side slopes should be graded to no more than <br />3:1 slopes. The stockpiled topsoil should be spread evenly <br />to :a depth of 12 inches over the overburden area so as to <br />top soil to meet this recommendation and as a result <br />additional topsoil may need to be brought in for adequate <br />rev~~get.ation to occur. The disturbed area should be <br />fer':ili~ed at. a rate of no less than 40 pounds of nitrogen <br />similar organic material ma,v be used to supply all or part <br />of +.he specific nutrients. A cereal grain mulch will be <br />applied after drilling. The recommended rate of application <br />is •1000 lbs/acre of air dry material spread evenly over the <br />areas and crimped in to prevent washing. At least. 50% of the <br />mul<;h by weight shall be 10 inches or more in length. The <br />str~iw shall be free from noxious weeds.
