•
EXHIBIT E (Cont'd)
unsightliness and deleterious effects will be controlled.
In those areas where revegetation is part of the re-
' clamation plan, land will be revegetated in such a way as to
establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasting vegetative
' cover that is capable of self-regeneration and at least equal
in extent of cover to the natural vegetation of the surrounding
area. Refer to the revegetation program later in this Exhibit
E for details.
Overburden and soil removal and storage are discussed
i^ Exhibit D. The non-soil overburden stored for each stage
of mining will be returned to the mined area when the re-
l
l
d
ill
d
c
amation phase starts. It wil
be use
as a backf
an
' slope fill material. Soils will be used to cover areas to
be revegetated to a depth of at least 6 inches.
' The operator's intention is to minimize disturbances to
the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land and of
i
f
d
i
the surroun
ing area and to the qual
ty and quant
ty o
water
in surface and ground water systems during and after re-
'• clamation. Valco believes it is in compliance with Federal
' and state laws and regulations governing water and water
rights. There is no application of the dredge law or silta-

tion structure removal requirement. See Exhibit G for more
details on water.
Area outside of the affected land will not be affected
' in any foreseeable way by slides, runoff or other functions
' of the mining or reclamation operation.
' 13
