<br />23.3 TO 28.5 Shale -Dark gray to black, very fine grained, friable to low hardness,
<br />gypsum deposits in part, heavy limonite staining at 24.3', carbonaceous
<br />deposits in part, becomes sandier with depth.
<br />28.5 to 39.1 Sandstone -White, gray, black, low hardness, very fine to fine grained
<br />swirling pattern, gypsum deposits, calcium deposits, calcareous in part.
<br />39.1 to 44.1 Lennox Coal - Black, moderately hard, concoidal fracture, light
<br />limonite staining, blocky, some pyrite, some frizility.
<br />44.1 to 44.4 Carbonaceous Shale -Dark brown to gray, very fine grained, low
<br />ar Hess, pyrite eposits.
<br />44.4 to 57.1 Sandstone -Light gray (some black swirls), very fine to fine grained,
<br />low to moderate hardness, carbonaceous in part, shale lenses in part,
<br />pyrite deposits in part, increasing shale lenses at 56.5'.
<br />• 57.1 to 58.0 Shale -Light gray to black (swirling in part), very fine grained, low to
<br />moderate hardness, fractures in part, carbonaceous in part.
<br />58.0 to 61.5 Sandstone - White to light gray, very fine grained, moderately hard,
<br />fractured in part, carbonaceous in port, light limonite staining in part.
<br />61.5 to 81.2 Sandstone = Dark gray, very fine grained, moderately hard,
<br />carbonaceous in part, light limonite staining, shale lenses in part,
<br />notable shale lenses at 81.2' to 83.6' (dark gray, broken up, wet).
<br />81.2 to 92.7 Sandstone - Gray to black, very fine grained, moderately hard,
<br />fractured in part, carbonaceous in part.
<br />92.7 to 96.3 Shale -Dark gray to black, very fine grained, friable to low hardness, .
