Stoker Truck Self-Loading System
TCC plans to install aself-loading system for the stoker trucks that are currently being loaded using a front end
loader on [he west side of [he Prep Plan[. This system will require the installation of a multi-plate mmtel with hvo
feeders, an escape tube, conveyor structure, MCC building, retaining wall, and widening of Haulroad B.
A 12 foot diameter, 10 gauge multi-plate tunnel will be buried below the existing Broker pile. This tunnel will be
approximately 100 feet long and buried to a depth of 14 to IS feet below grade. A total of 100 cubic yards of
concrete will be required to install the tunnel. Two FCM Vibratory Syntron Feeders will he placed under the tunnel
[o reclaim the stoker coal. I[ is estimated [hat 20 cubic yards of concrete will be required in the area where these
feeders are located. The tunnel will also include a 36 inch buried corrugated pipe escape tube extending from the
tunnel approximately ~0 feet [o the south. One cubic yard of concrete will be required at the point where [he escape
tube daylights. A I50 foot long 36 inch com~eyor will extend from within the tunnel to discharge directly into the
stoker trucks. Two yards of concrete will be required for a pad to support the structure. An MCC building will be
constructed near the escape tube exit. Dimensions of this building will be 15 fee[ b}• I S feet with a concrete Floor
requiring approximately 2 cubic yards of concrete.
A retaining wall will be constructed on the north side of [he existing pile. The wall will require 6 steel piles driven
to a depth of 25 feet with treated cribs placed between the piles to form the wall. When romplete, this wall will be
50 feet long and up to 12 feet in height.
Haulroad B will be widened by approximately 20 feet to allow for a loading area with room for traffic to pass
trucks that are loading. The emergency spillway elevation of Pond E will be staked and the toe of the fill will no[
extend past this line to ensure that no storage capacity is lost. Topsoil will be stripped and salvaged on the topsoil
srockpile east of Pond E if the haulroad widening extends below the west of the pond embankment. No
construction will occur within a buffer zone of 100 feet from Foidel Creek. Silt fences, hay bales, rock filters, or a
• combination of these control measures will be used as required to prevent sediment from washing into Foidel Creek
fiom the new fill material or road section.
Reclamation associated with these additions will occur when the prep-plant facility is dismantled. The concrete
will be broken up and disposed of on-site. The steel associated with these additions will be either salvaged or
disposed of on site.
EneineeringTrailer
An additional engineering trailer is planned to be placed on the south side of the existing engineering trailer. This
rtew trailer will be 14 feet wide by 70 feet long and approximately 20 feet high of composite wood and metal
construction. No plumbing for water or sewer is associated with this trailer, but it will be wired for electrical. The
building will be removed when no longer needed.
Training- acility
The intended location of the trailer is on the southeast corner of die existing engineering trailer. This new facilih•
will he approximately 28 feet wide by 61 feet long and 16 feet high with the foundation. The building is a
composed of a wood and metal construction. A wooden walkway will be built on both the front and back of the
trailer with footages of 5 feet b}' 40 feet and 5 feet by 20 feet. One ramp and one stairway, totaling 350 cf will be
constructed for the walkway entrances. This potential site will be located on a disturbed area, which already
maintains a stable topsoil stockpile.
Approximateh~ 46 CY of concrete will make up 192 cf of the footer, 1008 cf of [he foundation stem walls, and 7.5
cf of the 6 pads for the adjustable piers. There will be a sewer line buried 2 to 4 fee[ deep from the proposed
[raining faciliq• ro [he manhole north of [he bathhouse facility. Approximately 130 feet of water line will be buried
4 feet deep and extend from the water supply line east of the main office to the proposed site.
