area, as depicted on Map 24. The 6,000 gallon diesel fuel tanks and containments will be removed when no longer
needed.
Water Tank
A 20,000-gallon water tank is proposed to be installed on the east side of the pump house. The tank is of a steel
construction and will be supported by a newly constructed 14' x 14' x ]' concrete pad. The location of this tank is
illustrated on Map 24.
The tank and pad will be removed when no longer required.
Surfactant Tank
Twentymile Coal Company will be moving an existing 8000 gallon storage tank to a permanent location adjacent to
the Electrical Shop. The tank will be supported by a concrete pad approximately 20' x 17' x ]' and enclosed in a
metal building. The building will be 20' x 17' x 20' and tie into the existing shop.
The building, pad and tank will be removed when no longer required and either placed in the portal area during
final reclamation or sent off site.
Batch Weigh/Loadout Transformer Pad
A concrete pad is required for a transformer at the Batch Weigh Loadout facility. The pad will be a 6' x 8' x 6"
steel reinforced concrete. Map 24 shows the location of this pad at the east end of the access road to the Batch
Weigh/Loadout. The transformer and pad will be removed when no longer needed.
Covered Storage Buildings
Two storage buildings were constructed at the facilities for dry storage of materials. The east building was
constructed next to the 20,000 gallon diesel tank installation. This storage area is 150' long by 50' wide by 20' tall.
The west dry storage area will be constructed in the tipple area with dimensions of 100' long by 30' wide by 20'
tall. Both structures are metal frame construction with a floor of 1' roadbase material. Both structures are
illustrated on Map 24. These structures will be removed when no longer needed.
Additional Rock Dust Bin
An additional rock dust bin (rock dust bin #2) was constructed next to the existing rock dust bin. The bin is within
previously disturbed area inside a small area exemption. Rock Dust Bin #2 is 35.5' high and has a capacity of
11,050 cubic feet. The foundation for this rock dust bin is a 22' x 24' x 1' steel reinforced concrete slab 6' below
grade. Four steel 1-beam pillars support the bin. The location of this rock dust bin is shown on Map 24 as Rock
Dust Bin #2. This additional rock dust bin and pad will be removed when no longer needed.
Coal Handling System
The original coal handling system was designed to handle a maximum production rate of 750,000 tons per year as
shown on Map 24, Surface Facilities. The system consists of two conveyors, a transfer building and a stacking
tube. The slope conveyor (BC-101) removes coal from the mine. The design capacity is 600 tons per hour based
on existing drive and maximum length. The drive is a dual 150 H.P. Dowty. A hydraulic take-up maintains
tension.
The tail piece is advanced into [he mine with development. The Slope Conveyor (BC-101) discharges coal onto the
storage pile feeder belt (BC-]02) at a transfer station. A flop gate in the BC-]O] discharge chute allows coal or
mine development rock to bypass BC-102 and be discharged onto a stacking conveyor.
